My Story
My name is Georgie and I am a Pilates teacher living in Petworth, in the heart of South Downs National Park, West Sussex.
I first discovered Pilates over 15 years ago and was hooked from the first class in! It was the missing link and soon enough I found a way to connect to my body that I hadn’t found in any other exercise or movement practice. I have always been very hypermobile and it really helped me to bring more awareness into my body and strengthen my joints.
Deciding I needed a change in career, I left my job to start my Pilates training in 2015. I took on a full year’s comprehensive training with The Pilates Center, Boulder, at their host studio in London. This centre teaches classical Pilates, true to Joseph Pilates’ original repettoire and has been developed by a lineage of teachers that trained directly with Romana Kyryzanowska, a renowned student of Joseph Pilates himself.
After teaching in London, I moved to Singapore in 2016 and alongside my teaching schedule, took on another comphrensive course with world recognised Polestar Pilates. During this time I was lucky enough to work with the best mentors in Asia. This contemporay teaching style has more of a focus on rehabilition. While undertaking this course, I was working in a studio alongside physiotherapists, helping many clients recovering from injuries, as well as helping many seniors gaining strength, improving balance and addressing other age-related conditions.
I moved back to the UK in 2019 and taught at another studio in London, before having two babies and launching Piccolo Pilates in 2020! I’m now living in beautiful Petworth, in the heart of the South Downs.

What Is Pilates?
Pilates is a fully integrated conditioning system designed by Joseph Pilates, originally called Contrology. It’s six main principles are focused on breath, concentration, control, precision, centre and flow. Joe believed working from the inside out and ofter referred to the centre area of our bodies as ‘The Powerhouse’.
Joe was renowed for working with dancers and many of these become his main protéges and later a group of what was known as ‘the elders’. This group took Joe’s technique and developed their own styles, creating their own lineages that have fed through to different parts of the world. Now over 40 years after his first studio in New York, his teachings have been kept alive and his method loved by many.
Pilates will improve your posture, strength, flexibility, breathing and over all sense of well being.
